This is a very unique project, we had to demolish two old homes to build this one. The owners designed the home to have multiple lock off sections so they could generate short term rental income. The cost to build this home is $200 per square foot
The home is designed in the traditional craftsman style. We designed the front entry so you can go into three separate living spaces. One space on the main level is a studio, with a separate lockable door, has and attached bath, perfect for an aging parent or short-term guest. Another entry is to an upstairs unit which features two bedrooms, one bathroom and a family room with a kitchenette. The last entry is into the main home.
The main home has a great room that opens to a back patio, features hardwood floors, quartz counters, a double-sided fireplace it shares with the master bedroom. The master bedroom opens to the patio. The master bathroom has a large walk-in closet, tile shower, double basin counters and private toilet room. The laundry room attaches the home to the garage that is access from the rear alley of the home.

This single level home in Awbrey Glen was designed in the Craftsman style. The front elevation with extensive trim detail in the gables, lots of masonry accents and a timber framed entry all stay within the traditional craftsman design.
Large glass double entry doors with trapezoid transom windows above allow light to flood in great room. Shed gables, both front and back, with many windows allow even more light to fill the vaulted great room space. You can’t say we don’t like a challenge. This craftsman style home was designed into a steep upsloping lot with amazing easterly view from high on Awbrey Butte. The cost to build this home is $215 per square foot.
Large boulder retaining walls were built at the front and back of this home for terracing purposes but add to the overall wow factor as you approach this home. Extensive masonry adorns the front elevation of the home, from the wainscoting of the garage to the two tired planter walls. An expansive deck at the front elevation is great place to entertain or the large covered back porch with skylights if you want to stay out of the snow!
The lower lever features a large game room, half bath, mudroom and extensive storage in the full height crawlspace under the home. The upper level is an open concept with a great room that opens to the front deck or the back patio. This was our first custom build in Bend and was built for only $130 per square foot. Highlights of this project include demolition and removal of a mobile home and garage just to get started! Two master suites on main, Great Room, Hardwood floors, tile quartz and glass counter tops and high efficiency heating! Also included was a 600 sqft unfinished ADU which is now complete and renting at $1500 a month.

This was our first spec build in Bend and it is a great example of how proper design and planning relates to budget. This home earned Earth Advantage Gold Certification and was built for only $128 per square foot. This included all permits, hardwood, tile, quartz counters, high efficiency water heater and furnace and landscaping! Everything!
